What will this summer be like for you?

As the summer days start to heat up i wonder, what are your plans, what are your favorite meals and summer treats to cool you off, what favorite activity can you only do in the summer? So many of these questions are running through my mind as i stand in the pasture and gaze at the clouds.

Does your summer include a trip to visit  my bosom friend, Chatty Belle, the Talking Cow in Neillsville, WI? Maybe it should! shes is one of loveliest bovine friends! There are some reports that she doesn't speak any longer, but back in our glory days she could talk your ear off!  Visit this site to hear more about Chatty and many more of my friends from the past. Some from Southern Lactose college, and other's from throughout my life. Each one represents a vital part of the town, dairy, or community's history and culture.

Maybe your summer includes something a little more tame like visiting some Oregon Cheese Guild dairies, and creamery's to taste cheeses and learn about different types of cheesemaking? I hear they added four New creameries to their list of members this year!

For my particular summer plans I think they will center around water...Laze the day away munching on field grass near rivers, and lakes soaking up that amazing sun! Maybe read some cowsmopolitan ;) My favorite hot weather treat of course is Salt and Straw's Crater Lake Blue cheese and Pear ice cream. There will be plenty of that stored away in my ice box for the next few months! 

Anyways enough typing away at the computer, I'm going to get out there and enjoy the weather while it lasts! I encourage you to do the same! Of course if you have the chance take a few moments and tell me about your summer plans. I would love to hear about them!
